My name is Nora McCarthy. I'm a former New Yorker and Jersey girl, but I've been living in the beautiful village of Malahide, in Dublin, Ireland for the past 10 years. Years ago, caring for my family (and my own increasing age!) sparked a serious interest in healthy eating. There has been a lot of research done and press written about the importance of eating "real food" - not processed. Healthy cooking isn't just for us. If we don't teach our children to be comfortable cooking, we aren't giving them the tools needed to cook "real food" for themselves. In 2011, I created Kitchen Kids, cooking classes for children. I've had an amazing response! The kids feel capable and empowered and the parents are surprised and inspired by what their children can accomplish. As the incomparable Julia Child said, “This is my invariable advice to people: Learn how to cook - try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless, and above all have fun!”
