Let's not throw tomatoes at ourselves. Let's not keep trying to find the next "superfood" that's going to solve all of our problems. Eating all tomatoes this week, goji berries on everything last week, chia seeds next week - won't cure us. There is no one thing. It's the increase in the variety and amount of good things we consume and the diminishing of the bad. There is no secret! No fix, no pill, no diet, no rule of eating, no one thing that is going to make you healthier than to eat real food. Tomatoes, chicken, carrots, apples, fish, berries, broccoli... There is study after study that find links between healthy eating and healthy lives. There aren't too many that find health benefits from manufactured/processed food. Even multi-vitamins, once thought a salve for incomplete diets, have been shown to have limited benefits.
If you keep Michael Pollan's (an award winning journalist who has written extensively about the food industry) simple advice in mind, you're on your way: "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." (http://michaelpollan.com/articles-archive/unhappy-meals/) So, in keeping with that, this week, i'll add a variety of recipes, highlighting a variety of goodness. Because the best way to eat real food?
Cook real food.
